![]() ![]() Information about “Device Performance and Health”, “Security Center”, “Hard Disk Health” and “System Startup & Shutdown” will keep you up to date. ![]() On the start page, HDCleaner tells you, similar to its sibling software, how much data garbage the PC pick-me-up has already cleared away and what the condition of your computer is. The HDCleaner is also a jack of all trades – it has functional overlaps with TweakPower. ![]() Anyone who is familiar with the latter program will know after a short period of familiarization that it is a jack of all trades. Kurt Zimmermann lets his programming and Windows expertise flow into the HDCleaner as well as into TweakPower. However, no advertising disturbs it and all the functions included can be used free of charge. In addition to cleaning the data carrier, the freeware can do a lot more. The HDCleaner does it a bit like the CCleaner: the functionality goes beyond what the name promises. The application comes from the programmer Kurt Zimmermann, who shows a love of detail in his applications and implements numerous functions and options that meet even the highest demands. You get a good alternative with the HDCleaner. Even more frustration is probably spread by the advertising pop-ups and the fact that the CCleaner starts somewhat sluggishly, especially when it is called up for the first time – and that with a tuning tool that should actually set a good example in terms of speed. Both are subject to a fee and can be tested free of charge, but those who do not want to pay anything will certainly be annoyed by it. While the long-standing autostart manager and the equally long-lasting plug-in management for installed browsers in CCleaner are certainly welcome, some users stop having fun when they look at the most recently added enhancements: a software and driver updater. Are you bothered by the development of the CCleaner, which is becoming more and more commercial? the Crap Cleaner has been “blessing” its user community for several years with advertising and additional functions that have no place in a pure cleaning tool for file systems and registry. ![]()
